Students of Sustainability Club began in Fall 2016.
Since then it has had committees within the club to help in spreading sustainability on campus. Accomplishments: >(2017) Integrating compost collection into University of Hawaii at Hilo's Waste Diversion Sort Station, gathering volunteers to collect compost >(2018) Composting collection became a student employment job >(2018) Efforts in integrating composting into dorms >Attending Annual Sustainability in Higher Education Summits >Making Zero-Waste Events on campus and for community events >Outreach teaching community of sustainable living (recycling, composing, self-sufficiency, and more) >Biannual SustʻĀinability Fair (started Fall 2017): features free Farm-to-Table food from Sweet Cane Cafe, Raffle Prizes, Guest Speakers, Educational Tables, and more.
